The Crossing
I’ve often heard
you in the night-time
while I sleep
You come from far
beyond your presence
rouses me
Are we not mortal
after all you and I?
The barriers are
breaking down I see you in the
after-light
The afterlight.
Tonight you stand
before me your empty face
is clear
I reach to touch and feel the cold
that numbs my fear
My hand just
passes through in wonder I’m amazed
If you are really
here then why am I not
afraid?
I’m not afraid.
Who comes from
the other side
With a message or
a mission
Waiting in the
cool of night
When you speak
We don’t listen
I watch intensely as your hands
slowly rise
The night is
thick and damp the air
electrifies
Inside the
faintest tug your aura beckons
me
I follow where
you go and leave behind
my body fast asleep
Eternally
We’re crossing to
the other side
In trance whilst
in transition
Behind we leave
the coolest night
Of my life
That other life.
